Are you passionate about agriculture and committed to driving positive change in Uganda's farming sector? Do you want to be at the forefront of sustainable development and food security initiatives? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!
The Agroecology School for Journalists and Communicators is calling for applications for its upcoming course. This 12-week program is designed to empower media professionals to become advocates for agroecology, a transformative approach to farming that promotes sustainability, resilience, and food sovereignty.
Uganda, with its predominantly agrarian economy, faces significant agricultural challenges, from food security to environmental degradation. The Agroecology School aims to address these challenges by equipping journalists and communicators with the skills and knowledge needed to effectively report on and advocate for agroecology.
As a participant, you will embark on a journey of learning and discovery, engaging in a blend of in-person workshops, online modules, field visits, and writing projects. You will explore topics such as the principles of agroecology, sustainable food systems, and the role of media in driving social change.
One of the most exciting aspects of this opportunity is the full scholarship valued at USD 2,244, covering all expenses for selected participants. Additionally, you will have the chance to network with peers from across the country, learn from expert trainers, and earn a certificate from the Agroecology School.
We are looking for journalists and communicators who are passionate, committed, and eager to make a difference. If you work for a registered media organization/company in Uganda and have a demonstrated interest in agricultural issues, we want to hear from you!
Applications are now open and will close on 28th July 2024. To apply, simply fill out the application form available on our website.
